LOOK WHAT OFFICE HOLDERS SAY ABOUT SVARW

"SVARW does a great job supporting candidates! During my successful 2010 campaign for Supervisor, they held two fund raisers for me and mobilized their members to help turn out the vote. SVARW is a great partner for any candidate!"

Mike Wasserman

Santa Clara County Supervisor, District 1

“SVARW was instrumental in assisting my 2006 campaign for San Jose City Council. They held my very first fundraiser, and again supported me in 2010 when I ran for re-election. I highly value their contributions and the confidence they have placed in me.”

Pete Constant

San Jose City Councilmember, District 1

Why Should I Support Leslie Reynolds for San Jose City Council?

Leslie Reynolds, a conservative and San Jose Unified School District Board Trustee, is running for San Jose City Council District 10 (Almaden Valley).

A question often asked is, “For those of us like me who do not live in the Almaden Valley, why should I support Leslie Reynolds?” The answer is simple –outstanding conservatives elected in one district can have far-reaching impact on many other
areas.

Example: School Board

Leslie Reynolds was elected in 2004 to the Board of Education for the San Jose Unified School District by the voters in Trustee Area Five (Almaden Valley). San Jose Unified School District has 33,000 students, 3,000 employees and an operating budget of $330 million. Recognized as a board member that worked hard to both be an advocate for the students and a bridge builder among the other four members of the school board, Leslie was elected by her peers to represent the San Jose Unified School District on the Santa Clara County School Board Association. Although elected by only the voters in Almaden Valley, she positively influenced the education of all students in the thirty-three school districts in Santa Clara County.

But wait – there’s more!

Leslie was elected by her peers to be a delegate to the California School Board Association where she worked with school board members from all over California to draft legislation regarding educational issues. As part of this association she played a major role in blocking legislation proposed by the California Teachers Association that would have prevented all school districts in California from using legal counsel during collective bargaining. Without legal counsel, local school boards can make costly mistakes and precipitate lawsuits. Leslie’s willingness to engage in blocking this teacher union legislation affected all six million students in California public schools.

Having been elected to two terms as a trustee for San Jose Unified School District, Leslie Reynolds has a terrific resume for seeking a seat on the San Jose Council to represent Almaden Valley (District 10). Having brought common sense and logic to the SJU School Board, the Santa Clara County School Board Association and the California School Board Association, she is prepared to join Pete Constant and Mayor Reed in bringing sanity to the San Jose City Council.

The opportunity doesn’t stop there!

Regardless of where you live in Santa Clara County be it Los Gatos, Campbell, Saratoga, Gilroy, Morgan Hill, or any of the other 15 local jurisdictions, the actions of the San Jose City Council are reflected throughout the county. Members of the San Jose City Council are chosen to serve on boards and agencies like the Valley Transit Authority which affects the entire county or the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) that determines policy for the nine Bay Area counties. Having a strong conservative like Leslie Reynolds who can bring common sense and logic to these powerful boards affects every single one of us!

Join us and be part of a positive future for San Jose and Santa Clara County!
